Industrial use round braid for temperatures up to 2300 F. Made from many strands of ceramic fiber that is braided to provide maximum resistance to mechanical abuse. Square braids are also offered. Aside from its superior strength, round and square braids also exhibit minimal unravelling when cut. Typical applications include gasketing, packing and sealing in and around high temperature heating equipment. This product exhibits excellent chemical stability, resisting attack from most corrosive agents. Exceptions are hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids and concentrated alkalis. This fiber braid also resists oxidation and reduction. If wet by water or steam, thermal properties are completely restored upon drying.
