Plain weave carbon fiber fabric is the standard for most lightweight applications. This strong composite material can be used with polyester or epoxy to strengthen any project while adding minimal weight. It is good for areas requiring carbon strength in only one direction, or can be overlapped with itself to achieve two-directional strength. Wets out easily and conforms to both flat and curved structures. Wrapping of existing structural components, such as columns and beams, can also greatly increase the lifespan and performance of critical load-bearing structures. These fabrics are also commonly used in FRP pipe and fittings for increased strength.
